In the last quarter of 2017, we began the development of a program for disabled workers and the recruitment of 23 disabled workers. On October 31, 2017, our Foundation received the Occupational Rehabilitation Accreditation Certificate. In 2018 and 2019, we stabilized our employment program based on what was stated in our Professional Program.
In 2019, improvements were made to make working more comfortable, the equipment needed to optimize production was procured, our employees were able to participate in job search technology training, and we were able to incorporate an internal incentive element during employment.
Our employees with disabilities have made 21,000 rescue teddy bears since the start of our operation, of which 10,000 have been handed over free of charge to the National Rescue Service. Also in 2019 we successfully accredited 3 new branches, one of which is located in Zemplénagárd, two in Budapest. At the end of 2019, 70 people with disabilities were employed by our Foundation. We strive to provide our employees with disabilities with a secure environment, a supportive environment, both professionally and personally, and a workplace that provides complex development opportunities that will serve as a solid foundation for new professional and investment plans for the coming years and expanding headcount.
Our goals for 2020 include: starting work at our accredited sites in October 2019, and providing decent working conditions; engaging new jobs in addition to existing ones, so that our employees can choose from a broader portfolio to gain work experience and skills in more areas; the inclusion of a minimum of 1 person, but planned 2 persons with visual impairment in our Foundation’s rehabilitation employment program, the proportion of our employees with disabilities within the workforce reaches or may exceed 50%.
