In addition to its ongoing assistance programs, the Hungarian Reformed Charity Service also adapts to the needs and needs of the seasons. To this end, it promotes a firewood program every year to support families living in extreme poverty and the elderly living alone.
During the winter, we often have to deal with cold weather, which is particularly difficult to get through in an unheated room and apartment. According to the Central Statistical Office, poverty and lack of adequate housing are the primary causes of frost death. On average, about 60 percent of cold deaths occur indoors, probably in the home, and only 40 percent outdoors.
The mission of the Hungarian Reformed Charity is to provide support for those who have trouble obtaining fuel during the frosty days. Supported groups consist of those in need during the day-to-day service of the Charity Service, as well as those most in need of requests to the organization.
